Quick answer

BookKeeper offers online monthly bookkeeping for SMEs in Seremban and Negeri Sembilan, covering Seremban 2, Senawang, Nilai, Rasah and more. The Starter plan starts from RM280/month, with the final price based on your quote. If you work in KL and have an Enterprise (sole proprietorship or partnership) business in Seremban, you must file Form B by 30 June each year. With monthly accounts, your numbers are ready when it is time to file.

Key points
  • Individuals with business income file Form B, due 30 June, with e-Filing until 15 July.
  • The minimum wage is RM1,700 a month, and from 1 August 2025 it applies to employers with fewer than 5 employees.
  • EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB must be paid by the 15th of the following month.
  • Audit exemption thresholds for financial periods starting on or after 1 January 2026: turnover and total assets of RM2 million, 20 employees, meet 2 of the 3.
Example scenario

Say you run a car workshop in Senawang with 3 mechanics, and most customers pay cash or DuitNow. You buy parts on credit from several suppliers in Seremban and KL, and settle at month end. Before closing each day, you photograph the job bills and parts receipts and put them in Google Drive. After the month-end close, you can see how much of this month's profit is actually tied up in parts on the shelves, and how much cash to set aside to pay suppliers next month.

What do car workshops most often miss in their books?

Most often it is parts stock and the balances owed to suppliers on credit.

At eight in the morning, a workshop in the Senawang industrial area rolls up its shutters, and the first car is already waiting outside. The owner listens to a customer describe the problem while phoning to ask when the parts will arrive.

Parts are collected first and paid for at month end. If you only look at what goes in and out of the bank, this month seems very profitable. Then next month the supplier statements arrive, and the numbers shrink straight away.

  • Every repair bill issued to customers, with parts and labour listed separately
  • Monthly statements from each parts supplier
  • Mechanics' salaries, commissions and payslips
  • A rough monthly count of common parts

How do Seremban businesses differ from those in KL?

Seremban has many small family-run businesses, and many owners also hold another job.

Senawang and Nilai have industrial areas and small factories, and Nilai also has wholesale malls selling furniture, fabric and household goods. Seremban 2 and the town centre are mostly shopfronts. Quite a few people commute to KL for work and only deal with their own business in the evening, so the books often wait until June before anyone looks through the receipts.

For side businesses like these, the volume of documents is small. What is really missing is a fixed monthly habit. Spending ten minutes every Sunday photographing and uploading receipts is much easier than going through a whole year of documents in one go in June.

Nilai wholesalers are different again. Customers include cash buyers and retail shops on credit, so balances must be checked customer by customer at month end. Goods come in from KL or the port, stock is large and varied, and each month you at least need to know which goods have been sitting too long.

If you run a Sdn Bhd with small turnover and assets, check whether you qualify for audit exemption. See can your company be exempt from audit for details. Even with audit exemption, you still need to prepare unaudited financial statements and file tax.

Where should Seremban business owners start?

WhatsApp us your type of business, rough monthly transaction volume and number of staff. An Enterprise with few documents usually starts on the Starter plan. See the pricing page for details.

If your books are several years behind, start with catch-up bookkeeping, working forward year by year from the earliest year not yet done. If your company is registered in KL, you can also read bookkeeping services in Kuala Lumpur.

Photograph your documents once a week, and you will not be up late sorting receipts at tax time in June.

Ask on WhatsApp
I work in KL and also have an Enterprise business in Seremban. Which form do I file?

You file Form B. Form B is the individual tax return for people with business income. Your salary and business income are declared together. The deadline is 30 June, with an e-Filing grace period until 15 July. Form BE is only for people with no business income. Please have the accountant confirm based on your records.

How should a car workshop record its parts stock?

Record parts as stock when you buy them, and move them to cost only when they are fitted to a customer's car and billed. Do a rough count of your common parts each month so the books stay close to what is on the shelves. Please have the accountant confirm the right method for how you operate.

My small factory in Senawang has fewer than 5 staff. Does the RM1,700 minimum wage still apply?

Yes. The minimum wage is RM1,700 a month, and from 1 August 2025 it also applies to employers with fewer than 5 employees. Payroll services start from RM15 per employee per month (minimum RM100/month), with the final price based on your quote.

My Nilai company has low turnover. Can it qualify for audit exemption?

For private limited companies with financial periods starting on or after 1 January 2026, the criteria are turnover of RM2 million or less, total assets of RM2 million or less, and 20 employees or fewer. You need to meet 2 of the 3, for the current year and the two years before. Even with audit exemption, you still need to prepare unaudited financial statements and file tax.

Seremban has local accounting firms too. Why consider online bookkeeping?

With online bookkeeping you can send documents anytime, without fitting around office hours to drop them off. It suits owners who are at the shop all day or work in KL. Compare the quotes and scope of local firms and online services before you decide. If you need to hand over physical documents, you can arrange this separately with the partner team.
